Trail Championship 2019
2019 marked the inaugural Steel City Striders Trail Series Championship.
What is it? – It’s a series of 5 trail races, you score points on your best 3 performances, relative to other Striders.
What are the age groups?
Men open, V40, V50, V60
Women open, V40, V50, V60
Are there prizes? Of course, a trophy for the winner in each category.
How are the points calculated? Whoever comes 1st in each particular category gets 20 points, 2nd 19, etc.
How do I enter the competition? – No, formal entry is required, just turn up for the individual races and Striders’ crack results service (Alex Green) will do the rest.

1. Wharncliffe Sider with Rosie – Wed 24th April – 8km

However, if you are unable to do so, don’t worry just turn up on the night, registration from 6pm, Grenoside Woods Car Park, 4 Woodhead Road, Grenoside, S35 8RS.
2. Agden against Alzheimer’s – Sat 18th May – 5 mile
3. Kimmy Kanter – Tues June 4th – 4.45 miles
4. Handsworth Hobble – Tues June 11th – 5.25 miles
5. Crosspool Crawl – Wed 10th July – 4.5 miles

These races were chosen as they are all trail based, local and supporting either fellow running clubs or worthwhile charities.
They were open to absolutely everybody. For runners more comfortable on the road, give it a go, it’s a great step towards fell running.
