Race Date: Sunday 16th March 2025
Organised by Retford AC and starting & finishing at Retford Oaks Academy, Retford, Nottinghamshire. Ignoring the out and back at around 10km, the route could be described as a bottom heavy hourglass shape with one of its 3 water stations doubling up at the pinch point. The course heads north to Torworth and is run on rural roads with around 100m of elevation.
There were 9 Striders among 677 finishers at the Retford Half. The men’s race was won by Edward Buck of Newark AC in a time of 01:05:59. Naomi Drakeford of Barnsley Athletics Club won the women’s race in a time of 01:17:45. Well done to Strider Natalie Neville who broke the 23 year old Striders FV50 Half Marathon club record while also coming first in the FV50 category.
