Doctors Gate is a 12.7 mile fell race with nearly 3000ft of ascent. The route takes you along the old packhorse route out of Old Glossop to where it meets the Pennine Way, before heading to Higher Shelf Stones, then on to Lower Shelf Stones. After returning to Doctors Gate, the route then climbs James Thorn, via Shelf Benches, before returning to Old Glossop via Dog Rock, Torside Clough and Cock Hill.

It was the second race in the Striders 2025 Fell Race Championships.

The race was won by Max Wainwright (Matlock AC) in 1:51:06. First female was Emma Bramley (Keswick AC) in 2:12:51.

Two hardy Striders braved the February moors and weather. Well done both.
