Report by Martin Downham
This is not a timed 10k event but it is worth a mention as The Welbeck Estate is not normally opened to the public. The course is mostly run on private winding roads (with very little estate traffic) and a small dusty gravel section.
The scenery is fantastic (and the main reason for reporting on this), moving from mature woodlands to wide open arable farmland and ultimately to Welbeck Abbey (with it’s impressive lake and driveway), the centre piece in this 15,000 acre estate.
At least 3 water stations were available on the course and additional refreshments at the end.
All finishers receive a medal.
You can also time your own run and it should be fast as the gradients are all reasonably gentle.
