Race Date: Sunday 5th May 2024
The Waverley Dash is 10km (approx.) trail race in the south east of Sheffield. Passing around the beautiful Waverley Lakes and Treeton Woods, located between Handsworth & Treeton, this fairly flat course is perfect for a Sunday morning race. The course is off-road, fully marshalled, around lakes, through woodland trails and fields, which can be muddy underfoot in wet conditions.
Hosted by the Handsworth Road Hogs, the annual event usually sees runners choosing a 5k or a 10k route, however this year only the 10k was on offer.
The race was won by Tom Saville of Dark Peak Fell Runners in 36:58. The first female over the line was Jenny Cartmell of Hillsborough and Rivelin RC in 43:08.
