Race Date: Wednesday 22nd May 2024
The fourth race of the SYCAA Road League 2024 took place at Ingbirchworth. This final race was mandatory, to be combined with your two best of the rest and register an overall score.
Race #4 started about 15 mins walk from Race HQ, which caught a few runners out. Weather was cold and wet, with a grim headwind until the first turning.
Most of the climbing takes place in the initial 3km of this route, although there’s a small fairly steep climb at around 5km. The final kilometre is a flat race around the Ingbirchworth Reservoir to the finish.
Final standings will follow once team positions have been released.
51 Striders were amongst 301 runners at Ingbirchworth. Barnsley AC completed the individual clean sweep, with Kai Sunman (26:01) and Ruby Sykes (29:06) once again winning the men’s and women’s races respectively.
