Sherwood Pines Trail 10k Running Race Report
The Sherwood Pines Trail 10k running race took place on 17th March at Sherwood Pines Forest Park, Nottinghamshire. The race attracted a large number of participants and showcased the beauty of the park’s trails. The 10k and half marathon races kicked off at 10:00 ( myself doing the 10k) with runners embarking on a scenic route through the forest trails. The course offered a mix of terrains, including wooded paths, rolling hills, and picturesque landscapes, providing both a challenging and enjoyable experience for participants.
The race saw a diverse group of runners of all ages and skill levels, from seasoned athletes to first-time racers. The sense of community and camaraderie among the participants added to the overall positive atmosphere of the event. The race course wound its way through the lush greenery of Sherwood Pines Forest, offering breathtaking views of the surrounding nature. The race was well-coordinated, with ample signage, aid stations, and volunteers ensuring a smooth experience for all participants.
After crossing the finish line, runners were treated to refreshments, a medal and a sense of accomplishment as they celebrated their achievements with fellow participants. The male race was won by George Holden of Mansfield Harriers in 37.32. The female race was won by Grace Quigley (unattached) in 43.54.
