Venue: Penistone, South Yorkshire
Quite straightforward this one, just a 10k loop up and down the Trans-Pennine Trail at Penistone. Heavy rain and quite cold from start to finish with most of course flooded towards the end of the 6 hours.
Managed to hold on to 1st place (39.3 miles in 5.55mins) with Steve Cox of Sheffield RC snapping at my heels, with fellow Strider Rosey Royles doing a half marathon in what was tough conditions.
The race was won by Nick Booker (of this parish – i.e. Steel City Striders) with 6 laps (39.3 miles) in 05:55:06, and Karen Hamilton (of no identified club) with 4 laps (26.2 miles) in 04:25:06
