Firstly, huge thanks to Simon Wiles, Dean Young and Stephen Hargreaves for the organisation of this year’s Striders fell race, The Salt Cellar. Also a massive thanks to all the volunteers and marshals, who mainly but not exclusively, came from within the club. Without your selfless attitude, events like this cannot happen. Cheers gang.
The race itself was its usual wonderful mix of ups and downs, head high bracken and awesome views. The route required some technical ability or just sheer luck as more often that not, we had no idea where we were planting our feet.
This year there were 166 runners. The male race was won by Joseph Harding of HRRC in 55.43. The female race was won by Emily Cowper Coles of DPFR in 1.00.51.
