The third and final Run, Jump, Throw, of the indoor season took place on February 3rd. At this last meeting just myself and Kate were there, and both of us happy with our performances. Kate now 59 and soon to be in the Vet 60 category is showing some fine form and is certainly up there in the British rankings. Kate clocking 78 seconds over 400m and 2.53.50 over 800m, impressive times indeed. I ran the 800m and 400m clocking 2.23.00 and 62.2 respectively. My next race is the British Masters Indoor Championships in London and in March it’s the European Indoor Championships in Poland, so fingers crossed for those.
Over the three meetings we have had some excellent performances from the club. Seth Kirby running an impressive 9.41 over 3,000m as well as dabbling with the 800m clocking 2.20.03. Yasmine also had a go at the 800m clocking 2.49.12 and looked like with a bit more speed endurance training could lower that time significantly. Chris Ireland, ran the 3,000 in a steady 10.57, as a nice warm up for the British Masters 3k championships that took place the following week, clocking 10.44 to take 6th place overall.
