Run Jump Throw 2024 – Meeting 2

Event Date: 12th June 2024

A fine sunny evening with just a slight breeze provided perfect conditions for the second of three open meetings in this year’s series. The 3000m was a virtual Steel City takeover with nine of the eleven competitors sporting the green and gold. This race saw Rob Byers and Seth Kirby seemingly joined at the hip for much of the 7.5 laps with Rob prevailing by less than a second. Elsewhere, Andrew McNamara was reliving his track and field days from long ago back in Norfolk competing in the 400m hurdles, Long Jump and Triple Jump. We have to mention however the 100m which saw International Andrew Robertson, Sale Harriers Manchester, break the tape in 10.37. Interestingly, Robertson started by running cross country at school proving the point to try everything to find out what you’re good at.
