A new event from RunThrough in 2024, the Middlesborough Half Marathon promised a flat and fast route. Starting outside the Town Hall in Centre Square, runners passed through Albert Park, past the Riverside Stadium and around the docks before heading back to the town centre.

Cathy Harris was the lone Strider in a field of 1708 runners. Kieran Walker of North East Project won the men’s race in a time of 01:07:26. Winner of the women’s race was Sarah Kemshall of St Theresa’s AC in 01:18:59.
