Race Date: Sunday 29th September 2024
The Loch Ness Marathon is described as one of the most stunning marathons in the world. It offers runners a spectacular point-to-point route alongside world famous Loch Ness, starting in an atmospheric moorland setting and continuing through stunning Highland scenery, taking runners along the south-eastern shores of Loch Ness, across the River Ness, to finish in Inverness, capital city of the Highlands.
This year saw 3731 runners take part in the marathon (there is also a 10k, 5k, and the Wee Nessie run on the same day, so something for everyone). There is no ballot entry for this event so if you want in, you’re in.
The race was won by Moray Pryde of Lothian Running Club in 02:19:26. This time also secured Moray a new course record. The first female over the line was Melissah Gibson of Ealing Eagles Running Club in 02:54:38.
