Race Date: Sunday 3rd November 2024
This was the 7th running of the Gunpowder Plot 10k. Two laps around the Knavesmire racecourse in York (birthplace of Guy Fawkes), a flat off road route on tarmac and grass. The race is overlooked by the Terry’s chocolate factory clock tower and the racecourse grandstands. A medal, goody bag and a homemade cake awaited all finishers, and there were extra goodies for Strider Stephen Schubeler, who won the race. Well done Stephen!
Extra goodies
Two Striders were among 153 runners who lined up for the Gunpowder Plot 10k. The men’s race was won by our own Stephen Schubeler in a time of 0:35:30. Lucy Matthews of City of Stoke AC won the women’s race in a time of 0:38:42.
