Date: 16th March 2024
This trail run was race 5 of the FoxTrail Winter series put on by Durty Events, but it can be run as a standalone event. Foxlake is located in the heart of East Lothian 25 miles east of Edinburgh in woodland on the edge of the John Muir Way. There website describes the course as:
The course meanders through stunning woodland and farm tracks incorporating the John Muir Way and the Bridge to nowhere on Belhaven Bay. Be prepared once again for a mix of terrain, this time over a fairly flat course. The course will be fully waymarked and marshalled, so no need to worry about getting lost, just enjoy the views! And be off the beach before the tide comes in.
The race was over 16km but there was also a 5km option as well. There was definitely a run along the beach – I checked the photo gallery.
Fiona Tweedie was the solo Strider taking part in the 16km which she completed in 03:11:54. Well done!
First man was Andrew Fraser (NB runners) in 01:07:17 and first lady was Victoria Reid (NB runners) in 01:13:56.
