Race Date: Monday 6th May 2024

The Dronfield Town FC 10k is a more low key affair than its bigger neighbour in the calendar, but it’s highly recommended by previous participants. Reasons given often include the route, which ventures in the beautiful surrounding countryside; helpful club staff and encouraging marshals; and the family friendly, ‘village-fete’ atmosphere, this year with facilities including the bacon butty hatch and fundraising hot drink & cake stall (Biscoff biscuit-topped cake slice, 10/10 …but yes, running).

Watch out for “sledging hill”, which might require some tactical jeffing, and for one or two stiles.  A water station is situated at 5km, a welcome sight this year as the weather had started to heat up. No RunBritain stats to get nerdy about, this one is not UKA registered (up to 2024 inclusive).

9 Striders were among 149 runners at the Dronfield Town FC 10k. Max Poole (unaffiliated) won the men’s race in a time of 00:39:58. The women’s race was won by Laura Allen of Totley AC in a time of 00:43:03. Well done to Strider James Storey, on the podium in 3rd place.
