Race date: 3 July 2024
Race distance: 4.5 mile
The Crosspool Crawl is a lovely local race in support of Lydgate Primary School. It usually starts at the Three Merry Lads and ends at the Sportsman, but the Three Merry Lads is temporarily out of action, so the start moved a little way down the road to the Sportsman this year.
The course runs up to the very end of Redmires Road, then turns left onto the trail round the reservoirs, before following Redmires Conduit back to the playing fields behind the Sportsman. It’s a mix of road and trail, and given the recent weather there was some potential for sliding about a bit this year.
The race was won by Mark Prince (24:53.2) and Izzy-Mai Wilson (28:09.1) 117 runners finished.
