Cordwell Colossus is a fairly new event, being in it’s 3rd year.

It starts at Holmesfield drops down to Totley and passes through Unthank, Wigley, Linacre dams and Barlow in a 20 mile loop.

The route is a mixture of trails, fields and roads. Lovely views make up for the 3000 feet of elevation as well as the many styles/gates that have to be endured.
It’s not well marked out so some navigation skills are required.  I’m glad I managed to recce the route as on the day I had to advise a fair few people they were going the wrong way!.

It’s a low key event but does have 2 checkpoints/aid stations that are manned by friendly marshals.
All in all the lovely scenic route and weather holding out made this a nice morning out. And probably will do this again.

86 runners registered. 80 turned up. 1 had to withdraw and 3 finished but after the 6hr cut off.
