Race Date: Saturday 13th May 2023
Back in May, the UTS 50km took place. Described as beautiful beyond belief, savage beyond reason by the organisers UTMB, this one is not for the faint of heart. This race, which can be used as a stepping stone in to Alpine-scale mountain ultra-running, provides at least 3300M of ascent for those who love a good climb when they go for a run.
The race was won by Tom Evans (GB) in 05:27:11. The first female to cross the finish line was Joanna Gelfgren (SWE) in 06:46:51.
We were represented by solo Strider Lee Mills who confirmed the race as savage. There are reports (on Lee’s Strava!) of needing to have a lay down during the second ascent of Snowdon. Who can blame him! Here is Lee’s result:
Position | Name | Category | Time |
808 | Lee Mills | M | 13:01:48 |
I’m sure anyone reading this will agree that is a fantastic achievement… well done Lee!
