Race Date: Sunday 27th August 2023
This year was the inaugural Derby Running Festival. The festival took place at Elvaston Castle Country Park and featured 5k, 10k and half marathon events. The course is described as a flat, multi-terrain route incorporating some trail, tarmac and footpaths leading runners through the castle’s grade II listed grounds. Runners pass by the iconic hall and the famous Golden Gates.
The half marathon was won by Simon Smith, unaffiliated in 01:15:31. The first female to cross the finish line was Danielle Stack of Sinfin RC in 01:37:49.
