SYCAA 5 Miler Road Race Series Race 1 result – Elsecar

Race Date: Wednesday 29th March 2023

294 runners showed up for the first race in the 2023 SYCAA road race series, including 43 Striders.

It was an odd route for me as there seemed to be more up than down, maybe not in elevation but definitely in distance. I reckon 3 miles up, 2 miles down. We were assured at the start, as always, by a wry smiling Keith Binney that it was flat! Mmmm.

The male race was won by Scott Hinchcliffe of Barnsley AC in 26.10. The female race was won by our very own Caroline Brock in 30.37. Well done to Caroline and to the other 42 Striders in attendance.
