Race Date: Friday 7th April 2023
If you fancy a trip over the Pennines then this low key event is worth the trip. It starts and finishes from Salford Sports Village. It’s not the most scenic route doing a double loop of 5k around suburban streets. There is a main road which is meant to be clear on one side. However, that was not always observed by all runners. The village itself provides parking and showers. Parking is also allowed round the area. It’s not really on any major transport link but train and bus from Manchester is possible.
It’s run each Good Friday (unverified information). All finishers get a coaster. There are cash prizes for age categories and £100 for breaking the course record.
2 striders ran it this year. Nancy Stuart and Richard Pegg. Both felt it was not the year for the £100 course record.
Richard ran in 52.48
Nancy ran in 1.06.28
Male winner (a junior!!!) was Adam Barber of Harborough AC in a time of 30.46
Female winner was Sarah Potter of Leeds AC in a time of 35.08
