Race Date: Sunday 4th June 2023
You know that the summer has truly arrived when the Grimsby 10k comes around.
A flat course with an elevation of around 82ft, it has plenty of potential for a fast time. I definitely don’t remember any ‘not flat’ bits to be honest.
This is a well organised event by Tape2Tape, and a group of us have done this one for the past few years.
There is plenty of local support and live bands en-route. Even a hosepipe shower by the locals if it’s hot out there.
The finish is in the People’s Park, with a medal, T-Shirt and plenty of cake for all the finishers. The fish and chips afterwards in nearby Cleethorpes always goes down a treat, and judging by the club shirts, it seems we were not the only runners at the chippy as well 🙂
I got the sub-hour time I wanted, and looking at the results page there were a few other Striders out there too. The male race was won by Tom Straw of Lincoln Wellington AC in 30.35. The female race was won by Tamsin Boynton of East Hull Harriers AC in 35.56. There were 2095 finishers.
