Race Date: Tuesday 27th June 2023
Hosted by Valley Hill Runners, the Midsummer Mad Dash is a (roughly) five mile race through undulating woodlands, this year followed by a buffet with homemade cakes at the Pack Horse pub.

Strider Sarah Moss’s 1st in category finish was superseded by her 3rd female overall prize, well done to Sarah. Category prizes were limited to first place finishers, meaning that Kate Scott and Martin Downham just missed out, despite impressive 2nd in category finishes, while prize seeking desperado Paddy Treehowes got a spot prize, outrageous! 😄 First male Strider, Martin Moss, completed our club contingent.
The five aforementioned Striders were among 112 runners who lined up for the Mad Dash. The men’s race was won by Richard Cottam of Penistone Footpath Runners in a time of 31:51. Emilia Frost (unaffiliated) won the women’s race in a time of 36:56.
