Race Date: Sunday 12th March 2023
On a day when many of us were looking out of our windows to still see snow and ice, pondering what to do with ourselves after the Dronfield 10k postponement, the Lisbon Half Marathon was taking place, in what looked like perfect running conditions. The race sees thousands of runners fancy their chances at a great time, with the world’s fastest half marathon time of 57:31 being achieved here. The course runs along the river shore, starting at the 25 de Abril bridge.
The elite men’s race was won by Nibret Melak of Ethiopia in 59:04. The elite women’s race by Almaz Ayana in 01:05:29. The masses race was won by Iskander Yadgarov in 01:04:05 and the first female to cross the finish line was Eli Anne Dvergsdal in 01:15:56.
