Lancashire Walking Club AGM 5km

Tony did a 5km racewalk before the AGM of Lancashire Walking Club in Simister, North of Manchester. He had won the corresponding race last year after going off fast, hanging onto the leaders and then sprinting away at the end. He tried the same tactics this time but lasted 500m before being dropped, staying in 4th place for the rest of the race, and having to work hard at the end to stay ahead of 5th and 6th.

First home was Ken Conner in 27.28 but he was excluded from the final handicap results due to failure to “exhibit the correct walking technique”.  Tony’s time was 31.54.
