Race Date: Saturday 13th May 2023

Fairfield Horseshoe was first ran as a race in 1966 and is one of the oldest courses in the fell race calendar. This year it was chosen as one of the English fell race championship races therefore the number of runners swelled from 275 in 2022 to 449 this year. It is a 14.5km course with 914m of ascent – it’s a toughie!

This year’s male race was won by Grant Cunliffe of Rossendale Harriers in 1.18.10. Phillipa Williams of DPFR was the female winner with a record breaking 1.27.08.

Abbie Pearse represented Striders and finished in a brilliant 12th place out of 141 female runners. Well done Abbie
