Race Date: Saturday 31st December 2022
The Daleside Auld Lang Syne fell race is organised by Wharfdale Harriers. This 6.7 mile race starts in a quarry in Penistone Hill Country Park, features muddy and swampy terrain, and 1000ft of ascent. Runners set off to the sound of a lone bagpiper. Many category prizes are on offer, and there’s also a hotly contested prize for fancy dress. All runners get a bottle of Daleside beer.
258 runners took part in the Daleside Auld Lang Syne race. John Battrick of Keswick won the men’s race in a time of 42:05. The women’s race was won by Anna Watkinson-Powell of Dark Peak FR in a time of 52.09. Simon Wiles was the lone Strider.
