Crowden Horseshoe is a BM race, starting at Crowden just off the Woodhead Pass, and has a reputation for being steep and boggy. From the organiser: “Taking the scenic Pennine way via Laddow Rocks and to the summit of Black Hill to Soldiers Lump trig point…before ascending the old Pennine Way via Toolyshaw….”. The main point of interest this year though was a superb victory in the female category by Strider Gillian Allen!

(The men’s race was won by Finn Lydon of Carnethy Hill RC in 1:04 69 runners finished the course.)
