Race Date: Saturday 2nd December 2023

A RunThrough Trails event with options of 10k and Half Marathon, this was the third running in 2023 (the previous events being in June and October). Not to be confused with the Nice Work version which was run in February!

Carsington Water sits north-east of Ashbourne in the Derbyshire Dales, with the 10k route following the edge of the reservoir. Conditions were freezing cold on the day; when asked about the run, one Roger commented that it “probably was scenic” if it hadn’t been so misty.

Two Striders were among 272 runners who lined up for the Carsington 10k. The men’s race was won by Matty Fraga Martinez of Birstall RC in a time of 00:35:47. Ellie Monk (unaffiliated) won the women’s race in a time of 00:48:02.
