Race Date: Sunday 2nd April 2023

This year saw a new route for the Brighton Marathon. With runners setting off from Preston Park, they ventured into Withdean before taking a turn and heading back towards the city. Once past the Pavilion, runners head up into Kemptown before a coastal run to Ovingdean and then back down the promenade into Hove to finish at the Lawns. If you’ve never been to Brighton, then that probably doesn’t mean very much to you… Just know that it’s coastal and the elevation is minimal (according to the race map!).

8437 runners took to the streets with the winner of the race, Marshall Smith of Ashford AC, coming in at 02:24:05. The women’s race was won by Helen Reid (unaffiliated) in 02:55:11.
