A freezing cold day in Chorley for the Lancashire Walking Club Allison trophy 15km racewalk. We walked on country lanes up and down lots of hills. I finished 2nd in 1h48.38, I once did this race 20 minutes faster! I had never done a race before when I was shivering with cold on the start line, I didn’t feel comfortable in the race until halfway as it was so cold.

The race was won by Martin Payne (1:27:26). Seven of the nine starters completed the course.
