I crossed the Peak District to my home county of Cheshire for a 10km racewalk. I did the Lancashire Walking Club “Albert Rigby 10km” racewalk in Sutton, Macclesfield. This was the day before the Ten Ten Ten so I didn’t want to go too fast. The course was 3 X out and back on country lanes, I was content to follow the leader from the start. Around 4km new walker Ken came past, I speeded up to follow him but I could only stay in contact until 6km.
Ken pulled away and beat me by over 2 minutes. I hung on to just sneak under 70 minutes for 2nd place
First home was Ken Conner in 67.28
