Race Date: Saturday 20th August 2022

The Ultra was one of four events in Tough Trail’s INFERNO this year, the others being a half marathon, a 10k and a 10 miler, all of which start from Edale in the High Peaks. Races are held across two days, enabling competitors to take on a double; this year, one person completed both the Ultra and the Half, and six took on the 10 Mile and the Half. Strider Chris Boland completed the Ultra, a 41 mile route, described as including “sheep tracks, muddy paths, rocky descents and even a climb up waterfall with crystal clear water”.

32 runners lined up for the Ultra, 26 finished. Winner of the men’s race was Nick Jurd in 07:01:08. Winner of the women’s race was Sarah Polglass in 07:45:38. No club or age category information was available.
