Higham Hurtle race 2 can be summed up in one word, Hot.
Race 2 of the Higham Hurtle surprisingly follows the same 5 mileish route as race 1. Down the hill, through the woods, round said woods, through more woods, round the golf course (Fore!), more woods, the back up the hill you came down, but not all the way up because there’s a grass bank to climb, little path. Oh look, we’re back at the cricket climb. It’s a great little event but unless you have done it before you really have no idea where you are. Did I mention it was hot.
83 runners ran. Winner of the men’s race was George Parr of Penistone Footpath Runners in a time of 33:11. Winner of the womer’s race was Tara Spillings of Hillsborough & Rivelin Running club in 38:00.
