A good turnout of Striders made it to Hathersage for the Hurtle, a lovely friendly race with a village-fete atmosphere and some stinking big hills. They received free cups of tea, free cake, three bloody knees and a flypast by a Lancaster bomber.
Fastest runner was Sam Allin of Totley AC, in 2:16:27. Fastest woman was Nicola Bowen (unattached) in 2:47:43.
Eight Striders ran the course, out of 311 runners who finished.
(Honourable mention also to Catherine Needham, who did the walking challenge in 6:16:28).
