Race Date: Sunday 5th June 2022
The Great Grimsby 10k is in its 7th Year and took place from the iconic Great Grimsby Town Hall. The route is FLAT & FAST but caters for all running abilities. From the seasoned club runner to the newbie runners who love the camaraderie around the fantastic route. There was a spectacular finish line event at the picturesque Victorian Peoples Park in the heart of the town, where runners were welcomed back with music, entertainment and a real carnival atmosphere to commemorate the Queens Platinum Jubilee.
The local community gave support at this race, coming out with hosepipes and drinks to cool runners down! To get runners around the route there was lots of music, bands, entertainment, 3 water stations, jelly baby station and a fireman’s hose to cool runners down, kindly supplied by the local Humberside Fire & Rescue
1684 runners. The men’s race was won by William Strangeway of Lincoln Wellington in 31.55. The women’s race was won by Laura Smith of Hallamshire Harriers in 35.05.
