Race Date: Saturday 21st May 2022
Having been cancelled for the last two years due to the Covid Pandemic with relief and a great deal of excitement the race went ahead. Entries had been carried over from 2020 when it sold out in 40 minutes , which shows how popular this race has become . Unfortunately circumstances change in a two year period which became obvious with the number of places being offered for transfer on the Facebook page . This was quite understandable and something we had expected.
On the day 213 entrants started the race out of a total of approx 340 who had entered . The weather was a little indifferent with low cloud , wind and drizzle on the Summit but this did not seem to effect the runners with 210 runners completing the route with only three drop-outs luckily none of these were due to injury
The Mens race and overall winner was Gareth Hughes from Eryri Club in a time of 1.22.59
The Ladies winner was Elliw Haf also from Eryri Club in a time of 1.51.21
Congratulations to all winners and to all that took part from us all on the Committee.
A Junior Fun Run was held earlier in the day with over 80 entries
A huge thankyou to the Marshals on the day for setting up the event , recording runners up and down the mountain and manning the radio relay so we had upto date progress reports of what was happening on the hill. Also thanks to Aberdyfi Mountain Rescue and the National Park Wardens for ensuring everyone’s safety on the course.
Well done to lone Strider, Matt Wiliams
