On Sunday 16th January, three Striders travelled to York to take part in this year’s Brass Monkey race.

Organised by York Knavesmire Harriers, the race has a reputation for being fast and flat, heading southwards through Bishopthorpe, Acaster Selby, Appleton Roebuck and back through Bishopthorpe to finish behind the Racecourse grandstands.

The men’s race was won by Kieran Walker or North East Project, in a time of 1.05.28. The women’s race winner was Charlotte Mason of City of York A.C. in a time of 1.18.10.
