Race Date: Sunday 5th December 2021
The White Peak Trail Run takes a scenic route through the southern Peak District, passing through Thorpe, Dovedale, Milldale and along the Tissington Trail. Run on a mixture of footpaths, tracks and trails, there are usually two distances to choose from, but for this one-off Winter edition, only a longer distance of 15.9 mile (25.6 km) was offered. Reports suggest it was a muddy affair, but with cakes & hot drinks providing some comfort at the finish. Organisers plan to restore next years event to it’s usual Spring time slot, Sunday 8th May.
193 competitors lined up for the White Peak Trail Run. Winner of the men’s race was Oliver Hampson of Brighton & Hove, in a time of 01:50:14. Sophie Gibbons of Marshall Milton Keynes AC won the women’s race in 02:13:54. Two Striders took part.
