Race Date: Saturday 9th October 2021
The 66th Three Peaks Fell Race, billed as the “marathon with mountains”, saw 467 runners line up to take on a 23.3 mile course with an epic 5279ft of elevation. If that doesn’t sound tough enough, conditions were wet and slippery underfoot, with poor visibility. This year’s race started and finished in Horton-in-Ribblesdale (near Settle). Organisers hope to return to their traditional Spring date next year, having postponed the 2021 event due to pandemic restrictions.
First to finish was Garry Greenhow of Ambleside AC, in a time of 03:05:22. First woman finisher was Rose Mather, crossing the line in 03:47:38. Lone, intrepid Steel City Strider Andrew Mansfield finished in 235th place with a time of 04:45:50, well done Andrew!
