This year marked the 40th time the Great North Run had taken place. The route was unusual, both starting and finishing in Newcastle, and there was a staggered start – both pandemic-related.
The race was won by Mark Scott (Richmond and Zetland Harriers) in 1:01:31, and Helen Obiri (unattached) in 1:07:42.
