Race Date: 2nd of October 2021
Race Report by Tony Bell
Six days after running a personal worst time in the Sheffield Half Marathon I returned to my home county of Cheshire to go for a walk. I went to the village of Sutton, near Macclesfield for the Lancashire Walking Club 10km race walk.
I was still feeling sore from the half-marathon, my left hamstring was not happy but I went to support the event. We had a simple out and back course of country lanes of just over a mile, 3 times out (gentle downhill) and 3 times back (gentle uphill) to make 10km, part of the course was on Walker Lane!
Autumn had definitely arrived, it was cold, wet and windy for the race. The plan was to take it easy at the start and speed up at the end. However, after 3/4 miles I was feeling better than I thought and speeded up, I got to halfway in 31.47. I slowed a bit on the last lap but I was able to speed up at the end, I finished 3rd out of 9 finishers in 64.47, my best time of the year!
First back was Adrian Edwards in 01:03:06 but our own Tony Bell won on Handicap with 00:59:47
One Strider took part, result below :
Name | Handicap Position | Handicap Time | Timed Position | Time |
