Race Date: Saturday, 22nd February 2020
For the second weekend in a row, a lone Strider went on a mission to the UK’s most popular holiday destination (Blackpool), when Caroline Barnsley took on the Stanley Park 10k. A field of 315 runners competed in the two lap race, which is staged on both Saturday & Sunday to meet the demand. The flat course starts and finishes on the local running track, with the rest of the route winding around the well tended lakes and gardens of Stanley Park (winner of UK’s Best Park 2019!).
The race winner was Chris Maher of Liverpool Pembroke & Sefton Harriers & AC in a time of 33:00, and the first woman home was Belinda Houghton, crossing the finish line in 40:56. Well done to Strider Caroline, who came fifth in her category.
