Race date: 26 January, 2020; race distance: 5 miles
The Canal Canter is a four-race series organised by Rivelin (formerly Accelerate) Running Events. It usually starts and finishes at the Victoria Quays canal basin in central Sheffield, but race 1 of the 2020 season was instead based at the Olympic Legacy Park beacuse of a towpath closure. The course ran out-and-back to Meadowhall South tram stop, with a couple of added loops round the park and the Don Valley Bowl. It was won by Ben Burrell, in 32:14. First woman was Hannah Butcher, in 38:09.
