Race Date: Sunday 24th August 2019

The inaugural Sheffield Beer Bonanza 5K, 10K and Half Marathon took place on Sunday 24th August 2019. Featuring some local favourites, and a few exotic choices to boot, there really was a beer for everyone. Located on the Sheffield canal towpath, a scenic route on a mildly undulating, PB potential course lay ahead. Running poses many trials and tribulations however the biggest problem with this race was making it to the finish line sober, as the race hosted a different local brewery at every kilometre, allowing participants to sample their goods on the route.

A number of Striders took part in the 5k and 10k versions of the race and their results can be seen below. Full results can be found here. Worthy of note is Chris Smith’s race winning time of 24:44 for the 5k race, and Dawn Jackson’s 5th placing and 2nd lady in the same race. Well done all!
