Race Date: 20th January 2019

Victoria Park holds a 10k generally once a month. The organisers are generally the race organiser or Run Through events, though there are others. I entered, having a trip planned to London and having been promised “your flattest, fastest race performance of the season in East London’s super-cool Victoria Park. Personal bests happen here! With its wide tree-lined, super-smooth pathways, you’ll find yourself flying kilometre by kilometre amongst runners of all abilities to help drive you to a brilliant race result.”
The day brought glorious sunshine, though icy temperatures, and the course was as super flat and fast, as described. I was disappointed by a shoe lace untying, frozen fingers combo, but would definitely return for this race when back in London. The price was not too steep at £16 and I entered the week before the race, with others signing up on the day. There were 315 finishers. Winning male was Tom Twedell, unattached, in 34.11, winning female was Jane Vongvorachoti, unattached, in 37.59. 1 Strider finished.
