The Uganda Marathon 2019

Race Date 1st June 2019

Uganda is the home of distance running, and this is the biggest annual race in the country. Over 5,000 people descend from all around Uganda to run in this event, bringing the trademark African atmosphere: joking, laughing, singing, high-fiving. It is a weeklong festival during which around 200 participants come together to support community welfare projects before the culminating races – a 10k, half and full marathon on the red dust tracks amidst the villages, hills and forest surrounding Masaka. Over £164k pounds was raised by the runners for charitable organisations and community projects, more details of which can be found below;

5150 people competed in the marathon. Only international results are available at the time of publication, the 100 finishers included two Striders;
