Race Date: Sunday 16th June 2019
A single lap for the 5k and a double lap route for the 10k took in the lovely grounds and woodland of Graves Park. The route is hilly in places, and is on a mixture of grass, paths and woodland tracks.
A very relaxed affair with more of a fun run atmosphere than a race. Virtually all runners were dressed in pink running tops No results were published however I was up there to support my daughter running her first ‘paid for’ 5k race (at long last a use for ‘that’ Dewsbury 10k shirt) and whilst I was there I saw at least 3 Striders in action.
Well done to Chris Bannister who won the 5k event and to Sarah Allcard who I’m pretty sure won 1st woman in the 10k event. Sorry, I’m not sure who the 3rd Strider was even though she was the only runner in Striders colours.
A great low key event for a very worthwhile cause.
