Race date: Saturday 13th July 2019
For those of you that know your Trunce from your elbow, the Oxspring Hunshelf Amble is sort of like an expanded half-reverse Trunce+, if you know what I mean? Run along much of the same route as the Trunce, but with twice the distance, and twice the elevation gain – what’s not to like? Having said that, it doesn’t have the same awful attraction as the Trunce, and despite a record turnout there were still only 120 runners.
It’s not often that we’re outnumbered at a local race, but there were only 2 Striders in attendance. Despite that, we still managed to put on a fine display of mediocre running. The race was dominated by the V40/50 runners, with only 4 seniors in the top 30. The race was won by Alan Ford, of Barnsley Harriers, in a time of 52:38. 1st lady home, and 11th overall, was Sam Shaw, of PFRAC, in a time of 1:03.17.
